Barra México 2019, is a world class event where industry professionals and bartenders reunite to network and discover new products. In this edition Barra México exposed over 300 spirits brands like tequila, mezcal, rum, vodka, wines among others, however the event wasn’t only to showcase liquors, they also threw mixology competitions in which each brand sent a bartender to compete.

Ahhhhhh! (sight), the pleasure of enjoying a good drink while the top mixologist in the world enchanted us with their cocktails in Barra México 2019.

1921® Tequila took this opportunity not only to showcase its products but also to give the winners of previous competitions a chance to enjoy this experience. The bartenders chosen for this event were:

  • Luis Mercado – Hyatt Ziva Cancún
  • Carlo Proverbio – Bahia Principe, Riviera Maya
  • Luis Vallejo – Hotel ÚNICO 20°87° Riviera Maya
  • Edson Arzate – Texturas, Cancún
  • Salvador Zepeda – Hotel Xcaret Mexico
  • Ximena Ruby – Grand Hyatt, Playa del Carmen
  • Abner Juarez – Grand Riviera Princess
  • Natanael Zavala – Azul Beach Riviera

With two stands, one dedicated to coffee cocktails with tequila and another one to organic mixology, 1921® Tequila gave its bartenders an opportunity to share their cocktails with other people in the industry. Luis Vallejo impressed the attendees with his organic mixology skills preparing his flagship cocktail “Silvia”, 1921® Tequila Blanco infused with red cabbage to give it a bright pink color, lemon juice and topped with a Yucatán lime craft soda  in an Old Fashioned glass, garnished with basil leaves and a “Camelia” flower.

In our coffee cocktail station, Carlo Proverbio, our 1921® Leyendas Master Mixology winner, share an aroma filled cocktail that caressed the drinker’s nose, using cocoa powder and coffee beans to give that aroma a boost.

Along 2 days, we were able to share our experience and drinks with our industry and that left us with a thought:

“Material things are not what matter the most in life; is the moments, emotions, memories and lessons you share with your friends.”

Thanks for keep making history with 1921® Tequila.
